I came to Nicaragua with this idea in my head about how I was going to help children. Bringing supplies with us, we were going to Bluefields to give of ourselves. After two wonderful weeks of immersion in Nicaragua, I was leaving with an enlarged sense of self. Yes, I helped and served children in Nicaragua, but more significantly they helped and served me, revealing to me depths of love and hospitality that I was unfamiliar with. Traveling home I remember thinking "I must go home and be of service there, showing love to them just as those in Nicaragua showed love to me." I was shown that there are valuable things to be learned from different peoples, cultures, nations, and in this learning we become more humbly complete.
